World Record Gaming. OUO (At least as of August 13, 2023, and on the Steam version! Also, I dunno how many times I'll update this, but someone mentioned how they got 1,150,999pts on World 6 (on the Steam version), but they reached out to me and said that they had no idea the game was running slower for them than normal, thus they still consider my score to be the true 1st place score, meep!)

Soooooooooo, there's this really dope puzzle + platformer hybrid game called UFO: Unidentified Falling Objects that I've been enjoying as of late! It's made by the same dev as Super Puzzle Platformer and it's essentially a rework/spiritual successor to that game and even if you're not familiar with Super Puzzle Platformer (shoot alike-colored + adjacent blocks to clear them and score points, avoid dying from hazards), it's still a great game! So great, I'm considering making a separate video to talk about it...

But anyway, I was pulling an all-nighter last night (as you do when you suddenly have a heckton free time) and tackled World 6, the final world in the game where you have to face most of the obstacles from all the previous worlds. This was ummm, my first time playing in that world (which is why I was doing the "rectangle" mission), but after completing all the missions, I got into the zone and kept playing...and playing...and playing...

I was surprised to have lasted that long, e-even with some funny mishaps here and there that thankfully got cleaned up later on thanks to holding it out until the next level up via Double Stars, Shield, or just plain survival. Very happy about this though because it's the first time I've passed 100K! And this was while I still had the "rectangle" mission to do, so that's like, 8 more Double Star powerups I could've gotten instead or something! I'll see about possibly improving this score to like, 600K or heck, *1M* in the future, but for now I'm content with 491K. .u.

I'm telling ya, ever since I played the demo of UFO, I liked being able to mix and match gear (something different from Super Puzzle Platformer) and I fell in love with Instant Matcher, Quad Jump, and Lift and Throw, *especially* Lift and Throw with the increased freedom to manipulate (non obstacle) blocks for better combo-forming. That alongside Instant Match makes for some "skillshot" moments as you'll notice throughout the run: Grabbing a block, throwing it an an obstacle, then shooting the block when it's adjacent to the obstacle before it falls down, that sort of stuff's hecking cool to pull off. And lastly Quad Jump feels nice for maneuverability. *Maybe* Jetpack is cool too, I oughta do more runs with the rest of the gear to see what else is neat...but Instant Matcher & Lift and Throw though.

Maneuver, manipulate, and match! https://store.steampowered.com/app/2087610/UFO_Unidentified_Falling_Objects/
