Unboxing ASUS EeeBook X205TA-US01-BL. After an accident with my old Gateway netbook (rest in peace), I needed a small portable laptop to carry around with me in a duffle bag. Review here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwyaF2_AfH0

The ASUS EeeBook X205TA-US01-BL is a new SKU which just appeared on the Microsoft Online store. It replaces the older ASUS X205TA-UH01-BK model in their site.

As a matter of fact, both are still available in the MS store, but (at least in canada) the BK model is $50 more than the BL model. The cost is oddly the same in both the US and CAN stores, but with the exchange rate, this puts the BL at $158 US.

Now I know the X205TA is nothing new.. this model has been around since November 2014, but it can be found on sale in US for $179, $150 and on a few rare occasions $99 (Staples).

I'll get into more detail in the review once I start testing it, but this is a hybrid laptop with Tablet guts. As such - it's slower than another popular 11" laptop on the market - the HP Stream 11, but has a better battery and if you catch it on sale, you should be able to being pick up for a very cheap price.

So.. because it's probably found cheaper than the Stream 11 (the Stream 11 is $50 more here in Canada), I think it's in a slightly different market than the Stream 11. So it's a good candidate for testing some games. I'll be doing more of that in upcoming videos. :D
