Why Tablets? - Windows 8.1 Tablet Gaming. You know, I've been doing a lot of gaming videos on Windows 8.1 tablets. The HP Stream 7 has been the main one - and that's because it's the lowest spec device, so you can expect to run games as good as you see on the Stream 7 or better if you have more memory with a different CPU.

Windows tablet pricing is all over the road too for similar devices. As an example, 8" tablets range from $350 to $100, based on features, brand names and sales. That's a big range for machines with the same processor & performance. Playing Fallout 3 or Half Life 2 or Hearthstone (etc.) on a $350 8" Toshiba Encore 2 will be exactly the same performance as it will on a $100 8" Winbook TW802 oro TW801.. so you deserve to know that spending more might get you a nicer brand name, but it won't get you better performance.

The Atom processors in these Tablets are from Intel's Bay Trail family, and we will soon see the successors called "Cherry Trail" arrive in tablets this year. Intel is saying they will have 3x the performance of the current Atoms. There has been no proof or specs or benchmarks yet of any Cherry Trail, so we will just have to wait and see.

But one thing's for certain. You get a lot of bang for your buck with Windows tablets. More so than you do with Android and the super expensive iPad tablets. The cost to capability factor is very high with Windows tablets and it will only get better. :D
