You should be able to do this as soon as you enter this area where you meet up with Sully and skip the fight plus everything up to the puzzle room I land in. No idea how much time this saves.

This is pretty hard though. You use the camera launch glitch to fall out of bounds, grab the outside of the room below you, then let go and aim a gun so you fall backwards. Once you fall below where the hallway is, pause and allow the room below to load.
Then jump down to the lower hallway and carefully back up towards where I do. You need to jump forward as soon as the ground unloads. This is easiest to do while aiming a gun and walking backwards, then once you get to the part where it unloads jump forward.
Once you jump far enough to get into the next room, pause. This is pretty tricky to time.
Then just do the puzzle as normal and restart checkpoint
