[UNCHENSORED] 6.5, 2017 08-23: Recently, Day9 (@Day9TV) a.k.a. Sean Plott has begun a new series of videos to coincide with the release of StarCraft: Remastered. On one of his first episodes, he spoke about how StarCraft players have a misperception that you need to "get passed the execution (mechanics) to get to the strategy" and how the execution aspect is so crucial to the game.

This is exactly how I feel about Fighting Games and I feel that his video might as well have also been geared for Fighting Game players. So I go through this video bit by bit to discuss how the two relate to each other and talk about why execution IS so important to Fighting Games. The idea that execution should be minimal in Fighting Games is not correct. While some Fighting Games could be designed specifically to have lower execution, games like Street Fighter should not.

After going through the video, I then take some time to discuss and help people understand combos and why combos are not like "magic". People with good execution oftentimes just understand game systems and have good practice mindsets. It very rarely has anything to do with any sort of special magical powers and I try to help people understand that idea.
