I didn't want to upload this as I felt that my reaction was negative. My issue was with the mournful choice of music and how it was so loud I couldn't hear some of Daisy Ridley's lines. I understand that original soundtrack wasn't used because it would lead to a copyright issue, yet I really don't feel that this teaser trailer would make me enthused to see Episode VIII at the cinema, as I want my Star Wars films to be exciting escapist fun.

I went back and watched the teaser trailer for The Force Awakens and I was tearing up, so there isn't some biological reason for my having such a muted reason. Sorry, Ivan. I really wanted to like this.

I feel I have to apologise for my negative reaction, and didn't plan to upload it, but then someone in your comments wanted to know the issue I had with it, and I saw so many people had given you positive reactions, that I thought I could balance that with a more neutral take. I've got BOSE speakers on my iMac so I don't think that accounts for the audio mix swamping Daisy's whisper with pianoforte.

I think if you do a further trailer it could have a different, lighter, emphasis, with a softer, more optimistic, soundtrack. Poe drifting, Rey lifting tiny rocks, the Falcon flying through the red heart of Crait and bursting out of its white surface. If copyright was not an issue it could all be preceded by the complete sequence in which Ren is berated by Snoke and told to take his ridiculous mask off and Ren smashes it up in the lift, then go from that dramatic set up where a question is raised as to the "path" Ren may take and then have the summary of quick action shots, showing the Resistance doing their best to fight back. This still means that Ren attacking the hangar and nearly killing Poe, Snoke's death, the Throne Room fight, and Holdo's sacrifice are all kept out of the trailer for spoiler reasons, along with what exactly happens to Luke at the end of the movie. It would be a balance of Dark and Light, with the enemies shown to be in conflict with each other, and the heroes unified in their opposition and much stronger because of it, with Ren neither Dark or Light, but in a Grey area where a question is raised as to which side he will go to given that his efforts to please Snoke have got him nowhere.

Just a constructive criticism. I don't like to say I don't like something and not provide a suggested alternative. I hope you appreciate the feedback. I'm better off responding in a written comment than with words on camera. Good luck with your movie.
