A remote, mountainous area in the Nevada desert where there are many abandoned mines to explore and document. Sounds ideal, doesn’t it? After a long, steep, uphill hike with an elevation gain of 1100 feet over the course of a mile and a half as the crow flies, I reached a mining area that was last active in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Crumbling adits, a miner’s homemade shoveling tool, a miner’s stone cabin, dangerous surface features, and hiking during a rare desert thunder shower are all featured in this video. Enjoy!
