This video shows you were to find the challenge and how to easily complete it. To contract vampires, get attacked by the bats found in the screen above the screen with the box of the healing spirit (the gold main hub gold box). Vampires don't kill you, only reduce your health to a minimum. The hand boss is fairly simple if you do it the way I show in this video. Use the scroll "scroll: phase door" to avoid the scissor attack. Again, see the very in-depth guide over at PSNP if you got any issues with this one.

Note, I did this on the easiest difficulty, but the boss is just as easy on any other difficulty.
