Universal Pictures’ “Curious George” - 2006 DVD Review
This is a review of the 2006 DVD of Universal Pictures’ “Curious George.” This is the first theatrical film by Universal Animation Studios, the Animation Division of Universal Studios. This film was based off the classic book series by Margaret and H.A. Rey, which you can find at your local library. The film follows a museum worker named “Ted,” who is voiced by Will Ferrell, who goes into the jungle to find a lost shrine to place in the museum he works for. While in Africa, he encounters a young chimpanzee, who he names “George” later on. This chimp loves to play peek-a-boo under Ted’s hat. When Ted heads back home, the chimp follows him. The film also stars Drew Barrymore as “Maggie,” who is Ted’s love interest. Also, there is Dick Van Dyke, who plays “Mr. Bloomsberry,” who is Ted’s boss. Additionally, there is David Cross as “Junior,” the antagonist of the film and Mr. Bloomsberry’s son. I like the film not only for its visuals and music, which was provided by none other than American Musician Jack Johnson. This film was also a co-production between Imagine Entertainment and Universal Animation Studios, the Animation Division of Universal Studios. Imagine Entertainment is owned by none other than director Ron Howard. Ron Howard was actually the producer of this film, with Matthew O’Callahan as the director. I hope you enjoy the show and have fun with Curious George, as he discovers the world around him. NOTE: Soundtrack on Brushfire Records. 🙈🙊🐒🙉🐵🦧🍌🌎🌍🌏
