Kogasa (her name is also catchy), is the Stage 2 boss of the game Undefined Fantastic Object, the 12th installment of the Touhou Project. The Touhou Project is a series of danmaku shmups where there is more than meets the eye. Like Transformers, but cooler. Nothing is cooler than giant robots? Well, let me inform you that there are giant robots in Touhou. ZUN is prepared for everything.
So, stop tilting your head and hear my question: Who is Kogasa? Seriously, think about it for a sec.

Done? Okay. What did you answered? Did you answer the tilted girl on the picture or the umbrella on the picture? Is an interesting thought, the possibility that the real karakasa is the umbrella and the girl is merely an extension. Makes Kogasa infinitely creepier. You could horribly... damage the girl and that would mean nothing since the actual youkai is the umbrella. Also, while I rotated the image for practical reasons, it makes sense to rotate it if you "subscribe" to the idea that the true karakasa is the umbrella, not the girl.
Kogasa is the Ensemble Darkhorse of UFO. For those of you who don't know, an ED is a secondary or supporting character that gains great popularity. While I was searching for images, I noticed something. Kogasa has some very gorgeous images compared to the rest of the UFO cast. Obviously excluding the heroines, since the laws of probabilities simply make it impossible to compete against Reimu and Marisa and unlikely to compete against Sanae. I also noticed most of them are set in the sky and have her ;p face. She is moe. And would be youkai moe if Yuka wouldn't break her thumbs. But seriously, Kogasa has won the heart of many fans as a cute character and has some great artwork. But still, she falls squarely into "cute" territory, not gorgeous. My line defining the standards of beauty is complicated and will be examined later on. =/
Another thing about Kogasa is that when she first appeared, she seems to have some relationship to Nue. She doesn't. But this is one of those cases I like to say "Screw canon" and simply believe there is. And as such, I recommend "Rain, rain, raining down" by Aozora Market. Yay Nue. Yay Kogasa. Yay fanon. Although I still hate you for poor Chen, you heartless bastards ;_;
The stage is fairly standard. Those Yin-Yang explode into danmaku if disturbed, most things are static or aimed at you and is a fairly good stage to learn how to use UFOs as screen wipers. Kogasa is a very hard boss for second boss standards. Personally, I find her worst than Parsee, and Parsee is infamous for being hard. Her umbrellas danmaku rank rather high in the list of "Danmaku I hate". Well, that is all. Kogasa is cute, her stage is hard, and fandom adore her.
