The spiderdemon is weaker, less used, less imposing, and easier to handle than the cyberdemon, and equating people with one is probably a huge insult in some circles.

According to various sources Return to Na Pali was less well-received than Unreal proper, which is strange because it feels like the developers at least in part knew what they were doing and how to improve on the base game. There are mapping errors, granted, but they don't completely wreck your progress or impede you unlike in some games.
