4On this episode of Try Play, we revisit one of my favorite games of 2015 as we continue our search for the best opening moments in video games: Until Dawn! Supermassive Games has been on a roll lately, with the releases of Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, Hidden Agenda, and the upcoming Inpatient!
Until Dawn impressions upon people the sense that players are empowered to make decisions and change the kind of game they're playing. While there are always illusions of choice in video games, Until Dawn adds its totem mechanic to educate players in what sort of choices will allow them to enable different kinds of activities or endings happening. It's a great game with a great opening moment, and I encourage everyone to check it out!
