I took to the streets to fight in Urban Champion for NES, bringing my best moves. The game offers an interesting, albeit straightforward, take on a 2D fighter. Players can use light and heavy attacks to push their opponent back, with the goal of either knocking them into a sewer opening or avoiding being knocked in themselves. The ability to aim low or high and create blocks in the same area adds an enjoyable, "drunken neighbor" style to the game. However, the police showing up to reset the game within a limited time frame was frustrating. Despite this, I still found the game enjoyable and would gladly pay to play it again.

Game Info:
Urban Champion is a 2D fighting game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). It was first released in Japan in 1984 and later in North America in 1986.

The game features two characters fighting against each other in a street-based setting. The objective is to push the opponent back and eventually knock them into a sewer opening. The game only features two types of attacks, light and heavy, but players can aim high or low to mix things up. Additionally, players can block attacks by matching their opponent's punches.

One of the game's unique features is its two-player mode, where each player has their own controller and plays on opposite sides of the screen. However, the game's limited moveset and simplistic gameplay have drawn criticism over the years.

Despite these criticisms, Urban Champion remains a nostalgic favorite for some NES fans and is remembered as one of the earliest fighting games for the console.
