*UPDATE* As of early December 2020, this building has been demolished.

This now abandoned railway station I explored was built in 1853 by contractors, Christopher Brothers. The Ingersoll Railway Station was formerly named the Great Western/Canadian Railway Station. The Great Western Railway was the first railway to come through Oxford County in 1853. In 1882, the railroad changed names to The Grand Trunk Railway. After adding several branches, the name was again changed to the Canadian National Railway in 1923. Since, this building has been rotting away by neglect for many years by Canadian National Railway. It is one of Ingersoll's few remaining most significant historic buildings. The Heritage Protection Act of 1988 did not lead to restoration or protection of the station.
