Use Your Limitations (as a Sound Designer)
Most ever sound designer wants the best gear. But, we all know, deep down, that it won't help. In fact, it can likely hold us back.
In fact, our limitations can be a great help. When we're free to do anything we want, we often do nothing.
All of my best stuff has been made under time pressure, with no fancy equipment. For example, all of the sounds for Hyper Light Drifter are made from a 1940s recorder, and it still turned out better than if I would have used the nicest, most modern stuff.
Either use your limitations, or set your own. That's how we get great results.
