Should You Work For Free (in Game Audio)?
If you're a composer, sound designer, or other type of game audio person, should you work for free? Most people will say "no! Never!"
While there's a lot of nuance to this, I think it's generally okay to work for free, but it's not okay to work for nothing. Most people who work for free also work for nothing. If you're beginning in game audio, and are on a project that can't pay you, then you have to get more than just credit for your efforts.
But, if you're more intermediate to advanced? Well, get that paper. 💴
