Hello everyone! Here we are with a prologue for a quite anticipated game. This is Akatori: Chapter One, the free prologue for Akatori, an action metroidvania, where you will be fighting your way through by creating combos with your fists and your staff, while at the same time you will use that special staff to platform your way around. I remember seeing that way to platforming using a weapon in a different game (only once), but it feels way better and smoother in this game. Pixel art and background are great, sound design was a bit awkward by the start, but I think it got balanced once I teleported to the next area. Combat is fine, but there are some impact animations when you hit enemies that make the action feel slower-paced than how it should, or at least those are my thoughts; I think this game should be slightly faster-paced, considering all the options you have to attack (one I was doing shadow combat, it felt right, but the moment I hit an enemy it feels slower).

There were a few bugs to fix, and the shield enemy was way too easy, but overall it was a nice experience. Most enemies were easy to beat, but that's really understandable considering this is only the first area of a metroidvania.

You can try Akatori: Chapter One here, it will be available on April 19th https://store.steampowered.com/app/2524680/Akatori_hapter_One/
