My mother and I have both had difficult times growing up as children and also in our relationship together. For her to have raised me as a single mother without any support from anyone around her and not being able to spend much time with me due to the necessity to work 11 hours a day, she really did an amazing job.
I do believe that we are all people and everyone is always experiencing some form of joy and also some form of suffering. You could be a garbage man or you could be a billionaire or you could be just an average student but everyone has their difficulties and their areas of happy.
We did want to share with you a very important part of who I am and also share with you how we process through things. I am so grateful that Michael is who he is and is always helping counsel me and he really has a gift in handling people. I honestly think if you threw a crazy angry out of control stranger in front of him, he could really calm him down. LOL
Michael does major in Social Work and Sociology and also has a minor in Psychology and Philosophy so he definitely has lots of resources to draw from whenever there are conflicts within my family.
I really am so blessed and I honestly believe God put Michael in my life because God loves me and expresses that through Michael's love and patience for me. Thank you all so much also for your support. I really really really love every single one of you and I really don't know where I would be without all of your love and support.
I think it definitely is important to communicate your true feelings, thoughts and opinions in any sort of relationship and the value of that relationship will define how much you share or communicate. The most important part is really not what you say, but how you say it.
I'm so grateful that my mother's friend was able to sacrifice her time and come help us translate not only across language barriers but emotional and cultural too. In this way, not only was my mother more able to understand my feelings and thoughts about the whole conflicting relationship but I was also able to recognize that maybe there were some things that I needed to adjust as well of course.
Thank you all for sticking by us and deciding to become part of our family and join us on this journey of life as well. Let's do this together and keep challenging and questioning ourselves so that we can all grow and learn every single day. I love you.
