Valiant Hearts - The Great War - Part 1
0Hey everyone and welcome to a new series of Valiant Hearts.
The game is based on a time of war and follows 4 stories throughout the game. We start off with Karl who lives in France with his family but he is from Germany. Karl has been asked to leave the country and leave his family behind. Karl's Father in law is Emile who has also been called to help France fight the war.
We follow Emile on his journey as he arrives at his new post. Emile must get all the equipment provided and then head out onto the battle field. This area teaches us how to play and use our combat skills. We see Emile sending letters home to his family, war is a lonely place. Emile takes a train to his next location and meets an American solider named Freddie who will soon become his closet friend. Throughout this game we need to solve puzzles in order to progress. A lot of the time we need to do favours for someone to get something in return. Emile is able to help Freddie out and they quickly become friends, the two cant communicate very well but they respect each other.
Emile's group is pushed forward to the front lines ready to fight. However the German army is very strong and will not go down without a fight. There are many lives lost on the battlefield and even Emile gets shot. Karl was also called to war for his country and see Emile has been shot. Emile is taken in as a prisoner of war.
We are then taken back to Freddie who is an American solider who volunteered to help. Freddie is on the hunt for the leader of the German troops, Baron Von Dorf. Freddie is also on the frontlines and is willing to risk his life to help out. With this attack the German army was pushed back.
We are then taken to the cold German camp were Emile was being kept captive. Emile now has to work to survive, he also has shackles around his legs so he is unable to run. Karl comes to visit Emile but needs to be careful not to get caught. Emile does everything he can to survive, but whilst attending to his jobs the camp is attacked. Emile finds himself caught under a falling building. A small dog is able to find Emile and pull him out of the rubble. This dog now follows Emile and helps him throughout his journey.
Emile leaves the building and see the wreckage that has been left behind. There are even injured soldiers that have been left behind. Emile might now be free, but there are so many risks in this area. Emile and his new found dog push forward until the dog smells a sausage in the air. The dog runs away and gets itself caught in some barbwire. Emile tries his hardest to get the dog out but will he be able to do it in time?
