I recently bought a semi working Vectrex off eBay as well as a working one off Craigslist. I had hoped I could simply swap a couple chips between them to find the fault but I wasn't so lucky. There are only two of the same chips that are socketed on both logic boards. Unsoldering chips I can do but sometimes I damage them in the process.

I bought one cap kit, so I think I'll put it in the broken one and hope it works better when I'm done.

The one on the left was made in Hong Kong and the one on the right was made in Taiwan.
