Vengeful Guardian: MOONRIDER - Part 2: Bioweapon Lab (Intro Stage)
So if you're ready to really start this game, then just pick a save file and get it running.
You can only choose from the Bioweapon Lab in the stage select screen, but this is because this is where Moonrider starts his quest.
----------
Moonrider literally bursts out of his tank to attack the scientists that were working on him. He is one of at least 8 Guardians that were built to protect Penrai's corrupt government. However, Moonrider gained self-will, and realized that what he was being built for was... wrong...
He storms through the lab to make his way out and do something to change this.
----------
The miniboss of this level is a turret. You can't escape because you're blocked by a shield. What you have to do is make the turret aim and blast down that shield, either manually, or automatically after hitting the turret a few times.
Break that shield, and then you can lay waste to the guy that was foolish to block your path.
----------
Throughout most levels in this game, there will be Upgrade Chips, almost Mega Man X styled upgrades that enhance Moonrider's natural capabilities. You can only equip two of these at a time per stage run, but any new ones you pick up along the way can be switched in if you choose.
The only Chip in this stage is the MP Regen Chip, which slowly regenerates Moonrider's MP energy. Remember that you can otherwise only get more MP from capsule pickups, so this is already one of the most handy Chips you can have.
----------
The main boss of this level is another bioweapon called the Genoqueen. Her weakpoint is her open mouth, but you also destroy her hands to get rid of some of her attacks.
A lot of bioweapons in this game are colored like Genoqueen. Visceral red and pink flesh that garnered with metal plating.
----------
After beating a stage, you get ranked based on your points and how long it took for you to finish it, as well as checking if you got all of its upgrades. The highest rank is S.
----------
After defeating the Genoqueen, Moonrider stared at the blood that was now stained on his hands.
He was horrified of his own power, and how, despite using it right now to betray his creators, he was going to be used to kill innocent people.
There Guardians are portrayed as heroes on TV, but in reality this was a front and they were actually used to protect that corrupt government known as The Commission.
From this point on, Moonrider realized that the only way to turn this all around was to fight against his own Guardian brethren, and help the rebellious "threat" liberate Penrai from The Commission.
