The Verizon BlackBerry Bold 9930 is the latest in the bold line of Blackberries and rightfully so. This new BlackBerry is powered by a 1.2Ghz processor, comes with 8GB of on-board memory, a 5MP camera that records at 720p. A super bright 2.8" touchscreen ( this adds a lot to the Blackberry as you will see in the review).
The New Blackberry Bold 9930, has similar styling to previous models, but feels much lighter and streamline. It much thinner and lighter than previous Blackberry Bold versions. The Verizon BB 9930 sports a 2.8" touchscreen which is very bright and responsive as well as a new styled BB keyboard that is well spaced out. The Call, BB Button, Back & end buttons are all touch sensitive . The Verizon BB 9930 also as an all round chrome trimming which gives it a very high profile look and feel. How does it BlackBerry 7 OS feel?
Not being a BB user, I like they way the New BlackBerry Bold 9930 feels in the hands, it light, comfortable, the keyboard works well. The addition of the 2.8' touch screen does wonders to the use OF BlackBerry 7 OS. easy to navigate from app to app. The screen is clear and sharp, providing and alluring glimpse at the OS. Granted is is eerie similar to BlackBerry 6 OS, BlackBerry 7 OS is smooth and well optimized for the touchscreen. All of you presumed touch screen prompts are there and they are no notable slow downs
Conclusion
So what's my take on the new BlackBerry Bold 9930, it's a very good step by RIM in bring a modern update to and old OS and platform. Though some might peg this as a move that is a little too late for RIM. But Judging the device on the merits its presented. it is fast, smooth , got a very good camera for video and stills. BBM 6 is as good as BBM 5 with touchscreen functionality.
Yes there are issues, like the need to reboot after every app install, super long startup time. no flash on browser(though browser is fast and smooth). In all the BlackBerry Bold has a lot going for it, by helping RIM and die hard BB user move to a more fluid OS arena and heralding the entrance of BB's future QNX platform devices.
