Victoria 3 for Noobs Like Me Pt. 2
I am not going to call this a tutorial because I am not proficient enough in the game to call it that. I am a relative noob. What it is, is me sharing what I have learned through trial and error and many Youtube vids watched.
Victoria 3 is a nation/world simulator somewhat in the vein of Civilization. It is extremely hard initially to learn, mostly because everything affects everything else in so many ways. As of me writing this, I have played for 44 hours and I think that's a good rule of thumb for how long it is going to take to really start to know the game. As is, I have only ever played as Chile and Madagascar, though I have a hankering to try Burma or Afghanistan and get into the narcotics trade lol.
The game starts in 1836, and just like in 1836, slavery exists. If you do your first game as Madagascar as I recommend, they have slaves. When you do Chile, they have already abolished it by that time in the game. They recently made it much harder to actually abolish slavery, which is to say some of your interest groups are likely to rebel over it. The devs apparently noticed that NOT having the Civil War in the US was more common than having it. So bear in mind, if you start as a country that has slaves it can wind up tough to abolish it, depending on the interest groups in your country.
Vic 3 has multiplayer, which I have never played as I don't know anyone who has it. If you also have Vic 3 and want to join together on some multiplayer, hit me up in the comments and I will send you my Steam name and we can arrange mutually convenient times to conquer the world with our great alliance! I am in the Central time zone in the US.
