War Thunder AB #277 (PC) - Heavy Metal Hero on Sinai feat. Marder III H and Panzer III M
Heavy Metal Hero, Mission Maker, best score, 11 kills with Marder III Ausf.
We start the match by heading out into the setting sun with our trusty and reliable Marder III Ausf. H, one of my favorite vehicles. I hope they add the Marder III Ausf. M some day.
Anyway: first contact is a mixed bag. While I manage to take down two enemies without them being able to return fire they do capture the zone and it's too dangerous for me to go for it, especially this early in the game. There were no allies nearby to back me up, either. So I prefer to stay in or at least near some cover. For a pretty long time the more or less secure C zone isn't captured by our team simply because no one was close to it. It comes down to a situation where my ongoing efforts in thinning the enemy numbers is fruitless because they still got the lead in zones and we are trailing behind. Due to this, a short while before we hit half time on the video, I decide that I need to be more aggressive on the central zone to make some progress towards winning the game - points wise. Unfortunately my reloads aren't fast enough because suddenly we are getting rushed by 4 enemies at once with an additional 2 enemies nearby. I try to back away but it's too late. I had some issues with the lack of gun depression up to this point but I think it's not that noticeable. Just a slight uphill position or a bump on the ground is enough so that you are unable to get the gun leveled out and onto an enemy.
Next we select the Panzer III Ausf. M and of course we need to get back to the action as quick as possible. Despite the huge numbers that were inbound for the central zone our opponents kind of shied away from actually attacking it or they dispersed. Whatever it was, it gave us enough time to get reinforcements in and seal the deal on this game. Really need to rush near the end to get that last kill in on the SU-122. Allies on the ground and up in the air are also competing for those last points but the quick reload on the 50mm gun is giving us the edge.
