The Bf-109 was a great aircraft during World War 2, it did have its pros and cons. The good thing about this aircraft was its high rate of climb, speed, a high service ceiling, good acceleration, and a very high dive speed. The Bf-109 was not a easy aircraft to land or take off with. The narrow landing gear made it difficult to land. When it came to horizontal maneuverability, it was sorely lacking, and it couldn't carry a lot of munitions. Another thing that it lacked was range, it only had a maximum range of 410 miles or 660 kilometers., and it didn't maneuver very well at high speeds. For this reason, it didn't have good endurance, or it couldn't say up in the air for a very long time. It was a great energy fighter until the Allies designed and built aircraft which had a high service ceiling, very long range, and higher speeds, like the P-51 which eventually won the war for the Allies.

The Bf-109 or Me-109 was never outclassed from the beginning of the war in 1938 to the very end of the war around August 1945. The earliest version of this aircraft was the Bf-109A, and it was used in the Spanish Civil War in 1937. It only had two 7.92x57mm machine guns, but it was far better than anything the Republicans had which were I-15s and I-16s.

The Bf-109 was designed by Willy Messerschmitt in 1934, and it served the Luftwaffe from 1937 to 1945. It was the most produced aircraft for the Luftwaffe with over 33,000 examples being produced. They were produced not only for the Luftwaffe, but they were produced and sold to countries, like Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Croatia, Italy, Yugoslavia, Switzerland, and the Slovak Republic.

The aircraft was relatively inexpensive to produce, so it could be mass produced. The engine was upgraded a number of times during the war with each engine got more powerful and heavier as well. The final version of the Bf-109 was the K model, it was the fastest version. The earliest versions of the Bf-109 had 1159 hp and the last version had 1973 hp. The Bf-109 was versatile kind of like the Panzer IV chassis, this too was upgraded many times. It was used in the beginning of the war to the last days of the war.

When you use this airplane in this game, you should always try to get to the highest altitude possible. This will enable you to use it as a energy fighter. By getting to a high altitude, you can gain a lot of potential energy. This can translate to kinetic energy on dives. When making diving attacks, never try to tangle with the enemy if your attack should fail. Instead, you should use the speed from the dive to climb away and escape. Just make sure, the dive speed isn't too high, or your wings will snap off the air frame. You have to adjust the speed on dives. If you have to dive from medium altitudes, do a full throttle to gain as much speed, and dive away again. Speed can be converted to altitude or potential energy. If you do get into a tight spot and have to engage in a dogfight, you can use the combat flaps to increase your turn radius. Using the combat flaps will reduce your speed which is always bad. It can be done in emergencies. Combat flaps can be used in vertical maneuvers as well, because it increases lift. In the Bf-109, it is better to do vertical maneuvers like loops than horizontal banking maneuvers.

As for the armaments, you can select 2 configurations. The 1st being 2 machine guns and 1 cannon located on the propeller area, and the 2nd configuration being 2 additional gun pods on both wings. This will weigh down your aircraft, add some drag, and affect the aerodynamics of your aircraft. It is definitely worth it, because the additional firepower can help you destroy enemy aircraft very quickly. The armaments on this thing, the MG151 cannons are pretty good, they have a decent rate of fire. The machine guns can be 7.92mm or 13mm, and the cannons can be 20mm or 30mm on later models. The 30mm cannon is powerful, but you don't get a lot shots. The 30mm can do devastating damage at short ranges, so you have to get closer to the target to use them effectively. I prefer the 20mms, because you get more rounds, 60 rounds vs. 200 rounds. The 20mms have a flatter trajectory hence more range, but it can do less damage due to less kinetic energy.
