Carrier Landings. This is the most difficult type of landing you can perform, because you have to do it exactly right. You don't have 1 mile of landing strip to touch down, slow your aircraft, and stop it. When you touch down, your landing tail hook must attach to the horizontal cable on the carrier deck. In order to achieve this, you need to touch down at about 140 kph or less, and this is near stall speed. The good thing about the A6M Zeroes are that they have very low landing speeds, so it is an ideal carrier airplane.

Landing Procedure

1. Get your speed down to 300 kph when you near the carrier.
2. Throttle down to 30% and reduce your speed to 220 kph when you are near visual distance of the carrier.
3. Apply your landing flaps by pressing " ] " about 3 times.
4. Lower your landing gear by pressing " G ".
5. Align your aircraft to the desk of the carrier, descend slowly, and get your speed to around 175 kph.
6. When you are about to touch down make sure your speed is about 150 kph before you hit the flight deck. Your throttle should be 0% when you touch down. Also brake when you touch down. You might bounce once or twice before your tail hook attaches to the cable.
