I appreciate all of your support on this channel. I have spent an unholy amount of time studying and loving Warcraft 3 - something about this game and the depth of strategic expression that can be derived from it is, to me, untouchable.
So when I came across a Reddit thread that asked for Warcraft 3 help from, wait for it, someone who isn't very good at the game - it made me realize how important niche that really is.
When you watch a pro play, you can't "really" comprehend what is happening. You can listen and learn, but you can't feel how to win in the same way the pro does.
So, what if instead a lot of aspirational gamers needed less "pro-players" teaching the game and more "on my level" teachers who, while they may be infinitely more experienced in Warcraft 3, are not infinitely more skilled at Warcraft 3.
This is where I come in. I can say with a lot of accuracy that many of the people watching this video in search of entertainment or advice regarding Warcraft 3 know less about the game than I do. However, the miracle of RTS is that that doesn't mean that they are "worse" at Warcraft 3 than me. In fact, many players with fresh mechanics, youthful fingers, and keen minds for optimization can run circles around oldhead Warcraft 3 players like myself.
There are oldheads in every esport - they have forgotten more about the game than most people will ever know. I have always respected and even admired this style of gameplay. Gameplay that wins off of cunning or superior risks assessment. My favorite strategies are when the opponent doesn't know what your doing, doesn't care, and by the time they figure out, it is already too late.
