Wargroove - Nuru Normal Mode Arcade
0Had a bit of a hiccup at stage 2, Valder always retreating and I couldn't get that early kill.
Wargroove is an amazing game, and it has filled the hole where Advance Wars left, I really wanted a Days of Ruins sequel or something in that vein. As amazing and fun the first 3 (Advance Wars trilogy + the DS one), you could tell they were stretching for balance in a lot of those entries. I felt Days of Ruins while still having it's own issues a lot more balanced and I might be in the minority for liking it so much. The reason why I bring it up is because Wargroove has done a decent job at their own balancing. Units aren't a straight upgrade based on the price, they all have their own unique benefits to each matchups that you have to judge on their cost, their movement and the terrain. Where the other AW games suffered in their balance was the CO powers being ridiculous (which while fun can take away from the strategy a little bit). Nuru's power is one that I do think is very hard to balance and a bit unfair. Letting the unit you summon have an action that turn at the cost of doubling the price, still feels ridiculous. That's strictly better that the barracks, that action on summon is so nice for ranged units being able to have the proper distance and strong counter units being able to run up and trade their matchups. This does rely heavily on money though, so it's tough to say if just removing that action on the power would warrant it, though would make Nuru much much weaker.
I love it, I've had this game for quite some time so it's a little odd to put this out. There's just so much charm in this game. On a whim I just really wanted to play this game once more. Arcade mode seemed like a good point to record, it is normal mode though, I probably won't put much videos out for this unless I get that whim again.
