Changing OPTIONS - VIDEO - GRAPHICS API from DIRECT3D 11 to MANTLE in BattleField 4 PC rendered my game inoperable. I could no longer boot the title (it would crash to a black screen upon launch) and my only way to recover or fix the game was to delete the Libraries\Documents\My Documents\Battlefield 4 directory folder, which in doing so also deleted all of my preferences, custom control key mappings, and save game progression.
