Bet you won't win a whole kingdom on a coinflip! In this new Warsim: The Realm of Aslona series, we go almost full Magic Kingdom for Sale -- Sold! and get our own throne room and crown without needing to do all of that crazy work or inheritance. But unlike Terry Brook's Landover series, my head-cannon here is that as Lucos the Quail we are literally playing the role of bird-king. Thus, a game that has potential to get silly is already bringing a smile to my face even on the first few turns of this 50 year save. Things start off rough for sure, but Quails aren't exactly known for making resposible choices. And that wishing well isn't going to fill itself. So get ready for warmongering, beat-grunting, knight-punching, flying fish, and so much more.

I've been wanting to do a series on this gem of a game for awhile, and I'm glad I've finally buckled down and started one. I hope you enjoy it too!

Warsim: the Realm of Aslona is an amazing kingdom simulator. Don't let the MS DOS/ASCII graphics and presentation fool you, Huw Millward has put a ton of work into this game and it shows. In this game, you are the newly crowned king (or whatever you want to call yourself) in charge of taking care of your people and helping them survive from Bandits, Demons, and other potential issues. There's tons of character, tons of charm, and an overwhelming amount of interlocking features. I only had time to scratch the surface with the game for this video, but I'm happy to show more if there's interest.
