These days most gamers have solid state drives (SSD), before that we had hard drives, and before that we had floppy disk drives and before that we had tape decks, and before that we had punch cards. and before that we had clay tablets with symbols carved by hand one at a time - but I'm being told they rarely were used for video games -.

Anyway, people are complaining that modern AAA games are taking forever to load on their high-end gaming PCs with ultra fast nvme drives... I let you meditate on how long it normally took to load an actual tape game on my computer back in 1984.
