12Inoffizieller, dritter Teil der Elvira Trilogie, 1993 von Horror Soft entwickelt und von Accolade vertrieben. Das Spiel heißt eingentlich offiziel nicht mehr Elvira im Titel, Waxworks wird aber aufgrund seiner Thematik und seines Spielsystems von Fans als der dritte Teil der Serie anerkannt. In Waxworks übernehmen wir die Rolle des Neffen des verstorbenen Boris. Als letzter Wille hatte Boris verfügt, das sein Neffe das Haus und die darin befindliche Wachsfigurensammlung erbt, doch als der Protagonist im Haus eintrifft, informiert ihn der Butler, das sein Onkel zwar tot sei, doch mithilfe einer Kristallkugel mit ihm aus der Geisterwelt kommunizieren kann. Onkel Boris nimmt auch gleich Kontakt mit seinem Neffen auf und erklärt ihn, das die Familie seit Generationen von einen bösen Fluch heimgesucht wird, der aktiv wird, wenn Zwillinge in der Familie geboren werden. Ein Zwilling wird gut und der andere Zwilling böse. Der Spieler muss in Form des guten Zwillings nun seinen bösen Bruder durch 4 magische Reiche, welche durch die verschiedenen Wachsdioramen betreten werden,folgen und dort die Inkarnation des Bruders töten um den Fluch zu brechen. Waxworks bietet gewohnte Horrorkost wie seine Vorgänger, das Kampfsystem wurde fast wieder auf den Stand des ersten Teils gesetzt und die Todesbilder im Spiel sind noch blutiger und grausiger geworden.

In Waxworks we take on the role of the nephew of the late Boris. As a last wish Boris had decreed that inherits the house and the collection of wax figures therein his nephew, but when the protagonist arrives in the house, the butler explained him, that his uncle was dead indeed informed him, but can communicate using a crystal ball with him from the spirit world .Uncle Boris takes the same contact with his nephew and explained him that the family is haunted by a curse for generations, which is active when twins are born in the family. A twin is good and the other evil twin. The player must now hunt his evil brother through four magical realms, which can be are accessed through the different wax dioramas, and there follow the incarnation of his brother and kill them to break the curse. Waxworks offers usual horror fare like its predecessor, the battle system was set almost back to the level of the first part and the images of death in the game has become even more bloody and gruesome.
