WedSNESday: Let's look at King's Quest V - A WedSNESday and Sierra Saturday crossover
This week, we take a 1-week interlude break from EVO as Matt is taking some time off, where instead of playing a usual SNES title from the past, Luke has keyed up a special WedSNESday and Sierra Saturday crossover, showcasing the 1991 port of King's Quest V to the NES. It's a testament to the technical achievement and the gap of quality between PC and the consoles of the day, and simultaneously a celebration of the hard work that went into porting a PC classic over to a console with some very real limitations.
King's Quest V on the NES is a port released in 1991 and published by Konami. It featured an adapted interface attempting to compensate for the lack of a usable point & click mouse interface, and was subject to a number of content edits to fit within Nintendo's content guidelines against "violence, nudity and religious themes".
