E.V.O.: Search for Eden (46億年物語 はるかなるエデンへ) is a side scrolling action game developed by Almanic and published by Enix in 1992 in Japan, then 1993 in North America for the Super Nintendo Entertainment system. it portrays an intelligence moving through the stages of evolution throughout billions of years. From Fish, to dinosaur, to mammal.
The game's central mechanic surrounds the player's ability to freely evolve their character by adding new traits like more powerful jaws, arms and legs for faster speed or more versatility, and other powerful evolutions that both give customizability but allows the player to tailor their experience.
