WedSNESday - Let's Play Ardy Lightfoot - Lightfoot & Pee
It's WedSNESday! Let's Play Ardy Lightfoot!
The NPCs are exploring some old hidden SNES gems again, starting this week with the ASCII platformer: Ardy Lightfoot. Luke is holding the controller today, guiding our hero through a not entirely-well-explained world where the eponymous Ardy has recovered some tablet with a prophecy on it that scrolls much too quickly, and a nearby mining town is set on fire. That's about as far as we've gotten.
Ardy Lightfoot was developed and published in 1993 in Japan by ASCII entertainment, then localized and published in the West by Titus the following year. It tells the story of a catlike anthropomorph called Ardy Lightfoot, with his throwable kirby-like monster buddy "Pec", traversing the world looking for the crystal shards that make up a sacred rainbow. It's basically the plot of Journey to the West, but without Son Goku. It features fantastic sprite work by Takashi Tory, and big, interesting level designs, but is classically "SNES tough".
