WedSNESday: Let's Play Cool Spot
Matt & Luke head back to the early 90s and experience some of the most blatant product placement that SNES-era gaming had to offer in the game that had you play the dot in the 7-up logo, Cool Spot.
NOTE: Luke's audio cuts out shortly before the end of the episode, so the ending is fairly abrupt.
Cool Spot was a platformer created by Virgin Games & released by Virgin Interactive in 1993 for the Genesis & SNES. It was one of many games released in the era that featured brand mascots as the main characters of the game. The game was created by David Perry, known for many popular 16-bit platformers including Aladdin & Earthworm Jim. The game's soundtrack was scored by Tommy Tallarico, famed for scoring over 250 games and co-creator of the Video Games Live concert series.
WedSNESday is the Level 0 NPCs weekly series where we play one older game for one episode, just to relive the nostalgia and maybe make your hump day just a little bit more fun.
