WedSNESday: Let's Play Hagane
In this week's WedSNESday, Matt & Luke enter the unforgiving steel world of the metal Samurai (He does nothing to really distinguish himself as a ninja except maybe having a grappling hook. He gets to be a samurai), Hagane. With only a suit of armor, a sword, a grappling hook and a satchel full of grenades standing between them and repeated, bitter defeat, they challenge the cyborg ninja hordes and the strange mutants to see who will be the greatest.
Hagane: The Final Conflict was published in 1994 in Japan by Hudson Soft, created by CAProduction. It is an action platformer set in a dystopian future where a cyborg ninja called Hagane must battle through hordes of enemies to exact revenge upon a rival faction of cyborg ninjas. It is notable for its impressive visual style, combining traditional Japanese artwork with a dark future setting. It received middling reviews at release but is considered a cult classic in today's game market.
WedSNESday is the Level 0 NPCs weekly series where we play one older game for one episode, just to relive the nostalgia and maybe make your hump day just a little bit more fun.
