Weekly Runs!!! - Week 5 - Risk Of Rain - Ep. 1 - Two For The Price Of One! Did My Best. :(
2Week 5 is up in my attempts to play catch up. The holidays and tweaking the new computer has been a bit of a challenge. Finding the time to record and upload videos has been problematic to say the least. However, I believe I am on solid ground again and ready to go.
Risk of Rain is a side scrolling platformer, shooty type game with survival and a forced, very fast learning curve. It has randomly generated levels, even different zones as you get past each level. No two playthroughs will be the same. There is perma-death and the longer you take, the harder the game gets. It's a very harsh but exciting roguelike and it's a lot of fun.
I chose Risk Of Rain for week 5 as it's a game I've got to dabble with a little and I've had some success with. Sadly as you will see in the run, I didn't have much success this time. That being said, it's part of the beauty of the Weekly Runs!!! series. I can have a few bad runs and hopefully some better ones down the line. I did find this game hard to keep up with while doing the commentary. I'm admittedly out of practice with platformers in general and this game punishes that. Maybe I'll do better next time. I will definitely log more hours before then. :)
