Some openings are very aggressive and you know that you'll get attacked as soon as possible by a probably strong tactician who enjoys open, wild games. I find it very difficult to defend such positions. The King's Indian is one of those. I used to struggle against it for a long time, and then I found a great way to simply start attacking first!

The best way to counter wild, attacking openings, is to start attacking before they do. That puts them out of their comfort zone, and puts you in the drivers seat. This game is a good example of just how quickly you can neutralize play by creating threats first.
