What does an F1 race engineer do? Well in F1 and other formula championships, there can be dozens of engineers each with a very specific task, but one of those engineers is responsible for communication with the driver. The relationship between the race engineer and the driver makes a HUGE difference to overall performance. The driver needs to communicate how the car could be better, and the engineer needs to communicate how the driver can adapt their driving to the car. The defining factor in the two formula championships I've won so far has been hands down because of the trust I had with my engineers during those seasons.
