Why Adjusting BRAKE BIAS is Important in Formula 3. Using a rotary knob behind the steering wheel, we can move our brake bias forwards and rearwards. This can totally change the behavior of the car since more rear locking can help the car turn, and more front locking can keep the car stable. Ideally, you want all 4 to lock at precisely the same time for maximum efficiency, but that is almost impossible with weight transfer, differences in brake sizes, and aero loads shifting.
