I DESTROYED my Race Car (and I didn't even realize)... The curb at the T14/15 chicane at Imola is NASTY in a formula car. Usually, a "banana" curb is a total no-go for a low sitting F3 car, but this is one of the rare exceptions. If you hit it at just the right angle, flying OVER the curb yielded a ton of lap time for a small loss in stability. Unfortunately for me though, that resulted in a stress fracture on the right hand side of the underside of the tub which was covered up by the floor. This caused a loss in rigidity in the chassis which we didn't discover until the car was stripped down the following week. Why it broke on my car and no one else's...? We'll never know... But my guess is that the car already had a hairline fracture there, OR I hit the curb at a bad angle once or twice. Small margins of error at this track!
