A recent study from Korea University looked at what might happen in an end of the world scenario using data from a Beta Test in Archage.

The findings were interesting to say the least but it got me thinking of another end of the world experience that many players partook in: Star Wars Galaxies, another PvP sandbox game that had a very different reality when the game closed with hugs and fireworks.

The study of MMOPRPGs for their real world applications has been going on for a while from economics to plagues ( we see you, World of Warcraft)
