Today's pairing is the super chill God/strategy game Reus with the Belgian Golden style What Hath God Wrought from Telegraph Brewing!

Filmed during Earth Day in April, what better way to celebrate than pound down some earth with a giant crab God? I try my hand at a pretty unique strategy game where your job is to guide the Gods to keep the filthy peons happy with the bounties the lands provide. The systems to the game a surprisingly complex, and you have to work the synergies to really succeed.

Now onto the beer! I dug into the cellar and unearthed one of my older bottles from Telegraph Brewing! Brewed for their 10th anniversary, this beer was an interesting combo of the bready Belgian Golden style with a hint of brett for a sour note. A little past it's prime, but that's cellaring for ya.

Belgian golden strong ale brewed with orange and meyer lemon peel, cracked pepper, and bottled with Brettanomyces.

Reus is an indie game produced by independent game studio Abbey Games. Reus is a god game in which the player controls giants who can modify the nature of the planet through terraforming, creating life, and altering genes. The game was released for Microsoft Windows on May 16, 2013.

Reus involves guiding four elemental giants who have the ability to shape the two-dimensional planet. The giants can provide resources on each "patch" of land, such as animals, plants, or minerals. The goal is to provide support to the planet's humans, who act on their own and cannot be directly controlled. The actions of the player can influence the humans' behavior; for example, providing humans with too many resources can cause them to be greedy and wage wars with each other.
