Personally, I don't have one of these on my phone, but it's necessary on the Kindle. My new kindle ( https://amzn.to/2RZiHqx ) is insanely slippery and hard to hold, so I picked up a cheap Popsocket to save the life of my not-so-cheap Kindle. I don't have this problem with the iPhone 8 or Kindle Paperwhite, but it's helped a lot with the plain Kindle. It's also more comfortable to hold now and great for extended usage. The down? Now the Kindle wobbles when on a desk and it doesn't lie flat.
