What The Heck Is Tribal & Error? Gameplay, Review, and First Impressions
In today's video we take a look at a indie puzzle language game called Tribal & Error. Tribal and Error initial plot has you play as a robot that has been sent back in time. After arriving to the past, you then take it upon yourself to help the native cavemen survive the upcoming ice age.
The game mechanics of Tribal & Error is mainly controlled via the mouse, where you can choose to click and hold or click and point to go to a destination. As a robot, you have the ability to record human voices. After hearing a caveman speak a word, you can then press a button to have your robot replay what they said. After hearing you, the caveman will then proceed to mimic out the action to try and help you figure out it's meaning. If the caveman is near something intractable, you can chain together up to four words to order the cavemen to achieve a task.
One of the most novel things about the game is that the cavemen speak in runes, which you can then translate to mean whatever you want it to mean. This makes it to where you can communicate in any language you wish, or even choose to make up your own. Hell we even used stupid memes as a form of speaking.
Overall Tribal & Error was a really fun game to mess around with, and after being in alpha stages for around 2 years or so, we can only hope that the game is nearing it's release date. Personally we can't wait to get our hands on the full game. The combination of cartoony cavemen, silly grunting, and language puzzle novelty has really won us over.
