I think my uptime and back attack accuracy was alright for a first timer. Must be because of all the training I've had with HIGH SWIFTNESS ENTROPY GS 🤣

Jokes aside, it used to tilt me a lot whenever someone made the argument that deadeye must be designed to be a lot stronger than gunslinger for the singular reason that they rely on melee back attacks. They believe that it doesn't make sense for a gunslinger player to do the same damage as an equally skilled deadeye player. The premise of this argument is that there is an additional condition that needs to be fulfilled to maximize damage on the class, and because to fulfill this condition takes "additional effort", it warrants buffing the class to the extent where it would be considered objectively overpowered. In other words, they believe gunslinger, unlike deadeye, has no condition whatsoever in applying damage. This is completely false; gunslinger's skill cast speed is slower than deadeye's, and therefore significantly more affected by the boss's translational -- i.e. non-rotational -- movement. Think about it this way, every single ability of Gunslinger takes a similar if not longer time to cast than shotgun rapid fire, the slowest casting ability in the Deadeye skillset. This is the very reason salvation is the meta for gunslinger, as it helps us to achieve a greater skill hit accuracy by reducing the cast-time of all skills.

What these people really want to say is that they think they're better than the gunslinger player in their party that they lost cruel fighter to. The fact of the matter is that these players are most likely just inexperienced. It is regrettable that they are also arrogant and complacent for being shown the same result, which is that they did mediocre damage, and ultimately coming to the conclusion that the fault lies outside of their control, falling into a sort of learned-helplessness/defeatist attitude in which they cease to improve themselves. I'm a very skilled gunslinger player and I played deadeye using the same set of knowledge that is required to maximize damage on the gunslinger class, prioritizing uptime but also taking into account back-attack accuracy and melee range. I did approximately similar damage as I would have on my gunslinger EVEN THOUGH you can clearly see here that I am not used to playing deadeye (I mistimed the perfect-zone of shotgun apocalypse about 4-5 times in this video alone). And it wasn't any more difficult or easier than playing gunslinger. There is an added element of STRESS because back attack accuracy is a statistic that is inherently derived from the randomness of boss's rotational movement, but the other side of this token is that if the boss's rotational movement happens to align well with my skill usage (being the randomized chance event that it is) I will be able to do MORE damage than I would on a gunslinger. Given this fact, the skillfulness of a deadeye player can be gauged by how well they evaluate the risk/reward associated with performing a given skill during a given DPS window that occurs during or shortly after a boss mechanic, which is also the very same capability that is representative of the skillfulness of a gunslinger player (and in fact every single class in this game).

Anyway, thanks for reading my little rant [Awkward]. I'll keep playing deadeye here and there in hell contents. It was a very refreshing experience. I will also be making a reaper in the future for the purpose of doing hell contents. I probably won't fund either of these classes too much though, as all my funding still needs to go into my four gunslingers T^T
