When is the next Nintendo Direct? (Indie World Showcase)
32There are a bunch of indie games that I am looking forward to in 2022 including titles like Metal Slug Tactics and TMNT: Shredders Revenge among many others which can be found on our most anticipated games of 2022 and most of which are coming to the Nintendo Switch. It got me wondering when the next Nintendo Direct: Indie World Showcase would be?
When looking at the Nintendo Direct history, trying to predict core Directs can be challenging as sometimes it can be years between them but I noticed a pattern when looking at the cadence of Indie World Showcases, which used to be Nindies.
In 2021, there was December, August and April. In 2020, it was almost identical with December, August and instead of April it was a few weeks earlier at the end of March. In 2019, the pattern continues with December, August, May as well as March.
In case you missed it the pattern is late Spring (usually April), Late Summer (always August) and Winter (always December). This pattern makes it seems like an Indie World Showcase should be happening just about any day now and likely by the end of April 2022 or early May.
