Jogi Low remained in charge of the German national team, in spite of crashing out of the World Cups at the group phase.

He ploughed on and was in a position to make the Nations League finals when Germany travelled to Seville for the final group match with Spain.

Alvaro Morata, Ferran Torres, Rodri and Mikel Oyarzabal ran the goals in, in a damaging 6-0 defeat for Germany.

Jogi Low, only then, announced his resignation from the German national job later on in March.

Low wouldn’t go out on a high after 15 years in the job – losing to North Macedonia in a World Cup qualifier and even stooping to the depths of a first competitive defeat against England for 20 years, and the elimination at the last 16 of EURO 2020.

Instead, what could Ralf Rangnick have achieved if he became Germany manager in 2018?
