When You Actually Felt Like an Assassin
604I'm normally the type of player that harkens on about how the old assassin's creed games truly captured the assassin fantasy. I think brotherhood, ac 1, and unity all give perfect vessels for players to feel like an assassin when they play. I often also mourn the loss in priority that maintaining that fantasy now has. However, the exception to this rule, for me, is origins. This game somehow managed to change the assassin's creed formula completely and still allowed you to feel like an assassin wandering Egypt in ancient times. I was awe-struck and still am every time I play this game and take in just how atmospheric it is. You really do feel like an assassin. In this video I put together one choreographed sequence and one more improvised, one to show how you could create the assassin fantasy in more prepared and less prepared ways. I also built a bayek that's a little more alternative, with a spear and a more rugged outfit. This is because during this playthrough I am leaning into the immersion the devs wnat to give me, and I am valuing the gear I am given in missions to add more depth to the things I carry with me. Bayek in this video reminds me of that batman scene when he is wearing the brown trench coat in TJL. Alternative version of the canon character but still cool.
